Like many stories about how companies are started, our company was started out of frustration with the status quo. It all began when one of our co-founders, Teko who was a Graphic Designer for a sportswear company, was Christmas shopping one year and looking for some cool Basketball T-shirts for his younger family members. Being a Basketball player once himself he could understand the frame of mind of someone who loved Basketball and being a Graphic Designer for a Sportswear Company he was intune to the direction of both Basketball fashion and T-shirt Graphics. He was looking for a T-shirt with a fun, cool design that expressed the raw attitude & energy of the game but without a negative or derogatory depiction. These were younger family members afterall, so he was
looking for a T-shirt that reflected a positive attitude and displayed a motivational image.

After eventually settling for a T-shirt that really didn’t embody any of these qualities. He realized that the product he was searching for couldn’t be found, because it did not exist. He then decided it was time to do something to change that. It was time to give the Basketball T-shirt market a new and fresh perspective. So in 1996 Teko and his brothers, combined their passion for the Sport with a good sense of Basketball Fashion and Graphic Design expertise to create the the brand Gametime Hoopwear®. Soon after the Brand’s inception they created there own venue in the form of an annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament in their home town and made their new brand of T-shirts available to kids and adults who attended. Gradually their brand of T-shirts developed a strong following which led them to launch the official on-line store which is still succesfully operating today and where you can find the latest T-shirt designs and apparel that Gametime Hoopwear® has to offer.
